First Call selections confirmed for IMMUFELLOW Postdoctoral programme
IMMUFELLOW Postdoctoral programme has confirmed selections for the first Call for Applications and selected 11 talented researchers to conduct immunology-related projects at the University of Turku and Åbo Akademi University.
IMMUFELLOW (Interdisciplinary and Intersectoral Research Fellowship Programme for Future Leaders in Immunology) is a postdoctoral programme co-funded by the European Union’s Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions (MSCA). In the first call nine applicants were selected to University of Turku and two for Åbo Akademi University as intended.
All applicants were evaluated by external expert reviewers, and the selected fellows will further strengthen the already extensive and active immunology profiling area in Turku while benefiting from the comprehensive training offered through the IMMUFELLOW programme. The selected fellows come from Europe, Asia and North America, and their research projects while all related to immunology, range from molecular- and nano‑scale diagnostic and therapeutic engineering to systems‑level studies of immune responses in infection, cancer, cardiovascular disease, neuroinflammation, and Parkinson’s disease.
The IMMUFELLOW position are full-time with a fixed duration of three years (36 months). The Fellows are starting their projects before autumn 2026. The programme combines academic excellence with interdisciplinary and intersectoral training, mentoring, and career development. Fellows benefit from international mobility, industry collaboration, and tailored training in science, technology, entrepreneurship, and research beyond academia.
The second application call for the IMMUFELLOW programme will be opened in autumn 2026.
